Accessibility

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This is our target, not a claim of verified conformance.

Use the Colour mode and text size button at the top of the home page and this page to choose:

• Colour mode: System (follows your device), Light, Dark or High contrast.
• Text size: Default, Large or Extra large.
• Your choice is remembered on this device.

Browser zoom and your device's own text-size and contrast settings also work across the site.

• Every control can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
• Meaningful images have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.

The site has been checked with automated tools and by hand, but it has not yet had an independent accessibility audit or full testing with screen readers. We are not claiming it fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA.

• The colour mode and text size settings apply to the home page and this page. The sign-in, request forms and facilities portal keep their standard colours and text size.
• On the request forms, required fields are marked with an asterisk but are not yet announced as required to screen readers, and the step labels have lower contrast than we aim for.
• After you send a request, the confirmation and your reference number are not yet announced to screen readers.
• The sign-in and password reset pages are not yet marked with a main content region, so screen reader users cannot jump straight to the form.
• The facilities portal behind the sign-in has not yet been checked.
